January – The Sorrowful Tree (2021)

Painted as part of The Nightingale Project: a series of trees and nature inspired by lock down in The Calder Valley from March 2020 to March 2021 (and the brief escapes from it over the summer).

The news was grim in early January 2021. The country in strict lock down after a Christmas that was cancelled. I ran on a misty morning up on the moors. This tree, all alone in the tussocks, seemed so sorrowful!

Available as a mounted and signed limited edition print – unframed. Hand-finished with gold leaf and gold thread.
